... giving back ...

Paper Stories places a strong emphasis on sustainability. We manufacture only high-quality greeting cards and stationery products that utilize environmentally friendly materials and processes. Did you know that most papers that only say 'recycled' are often non post-consumer waste and are just made from the waste generated by the paper manufacturing process. Post consumer waste papers are truly recycled and come from papers that are discarded. We also acquire some of our fine papers from a 137 year old family run paper mill that uses a clean, renewable energy based hydroelectric generator to power their paper production.

When it comes time to work in the studio, we try to use as little chemicals as possible from our veggie inks to our glass cleaner. The majority of press clean up is done with good old' fashioned Crisco; the same stuff your grandma used to make pie crusts. This cleans ink off the press nicely and doesn't fill our garbage can with icky chemicals. Otherwise we choose plant based and low V.O.C. cleaners. We believe every little bit helps.

We are not only committed to selling fabulous paper goods but also in leaving an ecologically and socially responsible legacy with our business. In addition to printing sustainability, we regularly donate a portion of our profits to charitable organizations such as Kiva.org, which provides micro-loans to entrepreneurs in developing nations. The majority of donations have gone towards women artisans. We are also fond of organizations such as DonorChoose.org which allow us to contribute to specific teacher & classroom projects in need at schools in the U.S.
