Paper Stories has been designing and letterpressing joy into people's lives since 2005. Owned and designed by jill-of-all-trades, Kelly Maron Horvath; Kelly worked as a High School photo & design teacher and earned a Master's degree in Photography, before an affair with fine paper and hand-cranked printing led her to a 1926 Chandler & Price press, and the creation of Paper Stories.
Maron Horvath is not only committed to making these fabulous paper goods but also in leaving an ecologically and socially responsible legacy with her business. In addition to printing sustainability, using recycled and tree free papers paired with vegetable based inks, Paper Stories regularly donates a portion of their profits to charitable organizations such as Kiva.org, which provides micro-loans to entrepreneurs in developing nations. The majority of donations have gone towards women artisans. Paper Stories is also partial to several domestic organizations that provide much needed funds to classrooms and teachers in need.
When Kelly isn't manning the helm at Paper Stories, she is working with her second business Indie Wed. Indie Wed is THE alternative to the traditional bridal expo. It is a semi-annual event in Chicago, a source of inspiration, and a much needed resource for those in the midst of wedding planning.
Whenever there is a spare moment, Kelly is with her charming husband, Russ, her amazing son, Jackson, their two cats and their two Boston terriers (or is it terrors?). Coming later this summer, the Paper Stories will expand by one more in the form of a roly-poly little baby.
